Riding in the Andes - Bitless bridles

Domingo doesn’t know „iron“ in his snout

Domingo, 5 year’s old, our own breed has been trained on basis of Natural Horsemanship only. Manuela trained him without pressure, force, spores or whip. He accompanies our guests on their trips into the wonderful Andes of Chile, together with Manuela – with bitless bridle, without Hackamores.

Domingo, a 5-year-old gelding, grown up with us, on his way through the Andes.

Manuela trained Domingo with bitless bridle and manages the most difficult trails with him. Our experiences show many absolute advantages: no pressure in the snout! Pressure causes counter-pressure and this is fatal, because the horse acts against the human, confidence etc. is destroyed and the horse gets afraid. The bit lies on the tongue – we don’t think much about that – this makes breathing harder for the horse. Bitless bridles – and even fans of bits can’t contradict that! – as scientifically researched, improve the breathing enormously. A sufficient amount of oxygen increases the strength of the body and has psychologically a very positive effect on the nerve system. This is the same with humans and animals. These advantages with riding with bitless bridle influence the horse extremely and provide a good basis for a relaxed partnership between horse and man.

Riding with bitless bridle is fun, just tThe bitless bridle provides a humane alternative to the Bronze Age technology of the bit. Unlike the bit, no pain is inflicted. Your horse is free from fear, listens more attentively, breathes more freely, and moves more gracefully. With a calm, less spooky horse, communication is enhanced, trust established, performance improved, and harmony achieved. Riding and driving becomes simpler, safer and more satisfying. Both you and your horse can relax and enjoy yourselves.

Riding with bitless bridle is fun, just try yourself here with us!
We give you a complete and clear introduction into riding with bitless bridle. You can imagine, that Manuela and I (Clark) don’t want to risk too much. On the contrary, on my sailing trips – more than 100 000 sea-miles, which means a distance of more than 3 times around the world – security and caution always were most important, otherwise I weren’t alive today! And with exactly this caution we would like to explain you, how you can ride with bitless bridle here, on Corral los Andes or later at home with your own horse. This is no magic, but is based on an enormous advantage, we have from the very beginning: the horses like this method! Especially horses, which were in the past only ridden with bits, experience a completely new and positive world. And positive reflects positive, as you certainly know already. You need not go to Chile to learn that!
Riding with bitless bridle is our deepest conviction. This is why we have bitless bridles in store, so if someone is that enthusiastic about it as we are, he can directly take one home
