The famous blood-line Bajo Leon at Corral los Andes
We breed horses on a small scale only. Two of our mares belong to the very old blood-line Bajo Leon. After two years of trial, we were very happy, when finally the mare Ochala gave birth to her first son, the stallion Sendenio. On the photos Sendenio has the tender age of 4 days.

Here in North Chile, near La Serena our small farm Corral los Andes is located, where our fillies grow up, at least two years together with their mom’s in the herd. From the age of three months, we take them with us on short excursions into the Andes. Thereby they gather experiences, get to know the environment, learn to step securely and, most important, develop confidence in human beings. Every time our mares have training lessons in the Round-Pen, their fillies join them. From the age of three months we start to train them as well, but very slowly, gently and playfully. These are no serious lessons. We are convinced, that a filly needs an enjoyable childhood and you shouldn’t destroy this by too serious requirements. The more incomprehensible is for us the shocking fact, that many horse breeders sell their fillies at the age of six month or even earlier, just because of their materialistic greed. We are disgusted by that, because men should honour the natural way of life of the horses and grant them this life. To experience and learn social behaviour from its mother in the first two years of its life is a matter of survival for a young horse. Especially horses up to the age of 18 months copy the behaviour of their mom. This time shapes them!
Therefore it’s no surprise that we often have to give horses a new balance with Natural Horsemanship, because men made grave mistakes earlier, which evidently is the case with selling horses too early. It’s a shame, that such horse breeders exist

Young horses learn visually enormous
Our Natural Horsemanship training experience in Chile shows, take always the young once to gather with elder horses into the round-pen. The learn quick just by seeing!

Sendenio becoming a beautiful stallion.
Ochala, Sendenios mother is one of the rare mares in South America being part of the blood-line Bajo Leon. This precious ancient blood-line has almost died out because in the 70s many horses of this blood-line were sold to foreign countries to breed Polo-horses there.

Sendenio galloping on his birthday in October 2009. He is now two years old.
